Criminal Justice Club
MISSION STATEMENT
Members of the Criminal Justice Club (CJC) aspire students to increase awareness in a variety of criminal justice careers. As a club, our mission is to share our enthusiasm towards a criminal justice profession with other aspiring students.
LOGO
The logo for the Criminal Justice Club is a globe sitting on a ribbon. In the ribbon is LAHC. Contained in the globe and across the top is “Criminal Justice Club” and inside the globe is split in two sections, on top is the scales of justice; representing the balance in the criminal justice system. Under the scales will be the school mascot (A Seahawk).
Criminal Justice Club Constitution
ARTICLE 1. NAME OF ORGANIZATION
The name of this organization shall be the Criminal Justice Club of Los Angeles Harbor College, hereinafter referred to as the CJC.
ARTICLE 11. PURPOSE AND ACTIVITIES
1. To create, assist, support and promote CJC activities for Harbor College Administration of Justice students in order to increase their awareness of criminal justice careers.
2. Host activities and events for all students, faculty and staff.
3. Develop fundraising activities supporting the CJC.
4. Attend off campus related activities and events promoting the CJC.
5. Host socials on or off campus for CJC members.
6. Members of the CJC shall set an example of educational, professional, personal conduct, discipline and moral responsibilities and they are to be followed by all CJC members.
7. This organization is not affiliated with local, state, or any national organizations which require its affiliates to support specific positions within the area of economical, political, or social issues which contravene campus policies.
8. This organization shall adhere to the financial requirements of the ASO at Los Angeles Harbor College.
ARTICLE 111. MEMBERSHIP
1. The CJC is an organization open to all individuals interested in the field of criminal justice at Los Angeles Harbor College. In the club, members are selected regardless of race, creed, national origin, financial standing, age, sex sexual orientation, or grade point average.
2. The majority of this organization’s members must be composed of Los Angeles Harbor College Students.
3. Memberships in the CJC are students duly enrolled at Los Angeles Harbor College.
4. There may be associate members in the CJC, who may be comprised of faculty members, administrative staff.
5. There may be honorary members of the CJC, who may be comprised of faculty members, staff, students or students who transferred to a California State or University in the field of criminal justice.
ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS
1. The Criminal Justice Club (CJC) officers will be nominated by elected from Los Angeles Harbor College Club members.
2. The CJC club officers shall be:
a. President
b. Vice-President
c. Secretary
d. Treasurer
e. Board member
3. The term of office for CJC officers shall be for a 12 month period, beginning one day after the end of the Spring semester.
4. The CJC officers shall be elected by a simple majority vote of the membership.
5. If for any reason an officer is unable to remain in office, a new officer may be immediately elected.
6. All students holding office must maintain a 2.5 grade point average while in office, otherwise Article 111, section 1 applies.
ARTICLE V. RULES OF ORDER
1. The constitution and by-laws of the Criminal Justice Club may be amended at anytime by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the whole club member body.

DUTIES OF OFFICERS
A. President
a. Preside over all club activities
b. Represent CJC club at all student association meeting
c. Oversee planning, preparation, coordination and execution of all CJC activities
d. Responsible for all membership drives.
b. Vice-President
a. Assume the duties of the President in his/her absence
b. Assist and support the president in all of his/her duties
c. Responsible for publicizing all CJC activities
c. Secretary
a. Responsible for keeping minutes of all club activities, meetings and be prepared to report on their conclusions.
b. Accurate record of CJC activities
c. Correspondence for the CJC
d. Treasurer
a. Negotiate and record all financial transactions of the CJC
b. Only recipient of all funds raised or donated to be deposited with the funding department of the ASO
c. Shall disperse funds for use by the CJC upon request of the President or Vice President
e. Board member
a. Responsible for documentation of visual, audio or any other technology to record club activities.
b. Maintain a history of events, of all CJC activities, whether on or off campus.
